Schools
Say goodbye to making your science teachers hold catch-up sessions during their lunch breaks or after school.
Give them this time back so they can focus on their PPA time and not on catch-ups.
Save your department’s resources, but more importantly, give them back their time.
In your science department, your students need to complete all 28 required practicals in GCSE Science but we all know these require adult supervision as well as being done in a dedicated laboratory classroom. So what do you do with the following students?
SEND students who require extra time to do the practicals.
Refugee students who join in part-way throughout the year.
Persistent absentees who do not regularly attend class.
Every student should be able to access their full science education but we all know you have limited resources and time. Redoing practicals requires having a science teacher and a technician present as well as a dedicated science laboratory classroom.
STEM@Home changes this. Now your students can cover the content required in the AQA, OCR, Edexcel and iGCSE specifications without being held in a dedicated science classroom or requiring professional supervision. Each one of our curated boxes covers three of the required practicals per science and includes all equipment, solutions, parental instructions, workbooks and example exam questions for each of their three required practicals.
Each practical has been tested to ensure standard health and safety compliance for use outside of a dedicated science laboratory classroom. All practicals in each box have been designed to safely carried out away from the laboratory whilst still ensuring that the students learn all aspects of the AQA, OCR, iGCSE and Edexcel specifications.
SEND students can spend the extra time needed to carry out each practical with their learning assistant in any classroom.
Refugee students can carry out their practicals in their own time with their dedicated support workers.
Persistent absentees can do their practicals at home with their parents/guardians.
